Surf Rock has produced many shows in Brooklyn in Manhattan, such as Hottie Bop (a monthly variety show at Under St Marks theater), CRISPR: the Musical (Caveat NYC), Superlike (BCC) and many more. We also produce live events such as Fractal NYC's Headshot Social, album release parties, and corporate conferences and events.
Hottie Bop is a variety show with music, comedy and dance. Each month has a different theme. Past featured performers include Benny Feldman (JFL), Caroline Baniewicz (Barstool), Kylie Brakeman (Tonight Show) and Alison Reese (JFL).
CRISPR: the Musical! is an original musical written by Lina Zikas and Duane Stanford. It ran most recently at Caveat in January 2024.
Surf Rock has produced many live shows including Anna Aubry's "Doom Tank" at Under St Marks theater, "Superlike" at the Brooklyn Comedy Collective, and the "Pope Amanda" album release show at Fractal NYC. We have also provided production support for Sarah Rachel Lazarus's "Jennifer Coolidge Comedy and Drag Show". Live events include Fractal NYC's "Headshot Social" and production support for the Beverage Digest Future Smarts conference.
Lina Zikas is an NYC writer and producer. Her short film "Start Over" was represented in the Court Métrage in the 2018 Cannes International Film Festival. She produces a monthly variety show called Hottie Bop at Under St Marks theater in the East Village. Her original musical Superlike debuted at the Brooklyn Comedy Collective Nov 5, 2022. Her films have received Jury awards in 48 Hour Film Festival Chicago, Campus Movie Fest and Georgia Tech Film Scramble competitions. She graduated with a Materials Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Duane Stanford is a performer, writer and digital media specialist in NYC. He co-produces Hottie Bop, a monthly variety show in NYC, where he performs songs from his narrative albums Hot Pita, Pope Amanda, Feynman Wine, Softbank, and Citizens United. Video and photography clients include MTVu, Ideas United, Everspark Interactive, Zenith Global, and Cox Media Group.
